Doug has lived a life dedicated to music. An acclaimed songwriter, vocalist and accomplished guitarist, Douglas Bean’s early music career saw him be a longstanding member of S.A supergroup Henry Ate as well as guitarist and vocalist alongside S.A. greats such as Wendy Oldfield and Tamara Dey.
In 2009 Doug formed the Rocketeers, an acoustic cover duo that went on to become one of the most successful function/event acts in SA history, performing at countless private and corporate events and venues for over a decade.
Not just a cover act, the Rocketeers also released “Something Else”, an album of original songs in 2013 available on all major digital platforms.
In mid 2021, Doug relocated to the Garden Route and is now performing mainly as a solo artist and dj specialising in events in the Western Cape and Garden Route region.

Smooth vocals, accomplished guitar playing and masterful looping skills are combined to make a full sound that at times resembles more of a Duo or Trio than just one musician.
Doug comes to a performance armed with a high-quality sound system, many years of experience and an extensive repertoire of popular songs from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s classics to today's hits. During the performance, Doug is reading the room, choosing the right songs for the event's energy, whilst being aware of not being too loud for guests to enjoy their conversation.
Doug can also incorporate a DJ set into his service to offer a complete package for your wedding or event.
